What If?

At Getting Smart we’ve long been interested in the question of What If? Part of this is our perpetual curiosity about what’s next in learning, our knack for identifying the intersections between education and other sectors and also our belief in the power of the act of dreaming. 

We have created the What If? newsletter and campaign in order to invite other edleaders, educators and learners in the space to engage with us around the topic of what could be. This is our own version of “How might we…?” 

When our CEO Tom, was a Superintendent, he would regularly ask students What If? questions or have them create questions of their own. In his last year as superintendent, elementary students in his district created a book for him full of questions and illustrations.

Together we can dream up learning systems that work for all and it starts with dreaming, designing and contributing your thoughts into the world.

We will send out a What If? question every Tuesday and would love for you to respond on Twitter using the hashtag #GSWhatIf or email [email protected] with responses to the questions we posed or other What If? questions that it made you think of. We will then collect these responses and feature them in a monthly What If? recap blog.
