Discussing Smart EdTech Requires Buying Smart

Digital Learning Now! (DLN) in association with Getting Smart and with contributions from The Learning Accelerator and Curriculum Associates, authored and launched the newest Smart Series white paper, “Smart Series Guide to EdTech Procurement.” This is the 10th paper in the DLN Smart Series and features the expertise of John Bailey, executive director of DLN, Carri Schneider, director of policy and research at Getting Smart, and Tom Vander Ark, CEO at Getting Smart, as well as that of contributing authors Rob Waldron, CEO of Curriculum Associates, and Daniel Owens, partner at the Learning Accelerator.
These 5 authors came together for an interactive discussion on the implications of the paper last Friday morning.  They kicked things off by discussing why procurement is so important to different sectors in the education space right now. Procurement done right is essential in order for the  implementation of technology into the classroom to  truly be effective. An invested audience of EdTech stakeholders watched live and contributed some very thoughtful questions for that the authors fielded during the second half of the hangout.
The full paper, “Smart Series Guide to EdTech Procurement” is available for download, as well as the accompanying infographic, Smart EdTech Means Buying Smart. To complete the EdTech Procurement “trilogy” be sure to watch last week’s discussion below. Equipped with these three resources, decision makers will be fully prepared to make the best choices when purchasing for our schools today.
