Massively Open Online Courses (MOOCs), free online universities, and more are disrupting the traditional collegiate experience — forcing universities and colleges to reinvent the delivery of courses and degrees to remain competitive in the market of higher education. Recently, OnlineUniversities.com shared “15 Ways to Reinvent College.”

Many of these recommendations seek to reduce costs and increase spending efficiencies to offer students a more affordable solution to education. These cost-saving suggestions include charging premiums on physical locations, using crowd-finance research, switching to ebooks, charging a degree flat rate, and increasing the use of technology.

I would argue the majority of non-profit higher education institutions in America are conservative…they need to take progressive forward-thinking disruptions seriously.
