Getting Smart Town Halls
Our regular Town Halls create space to collaboratively design, discuss and discover what’s next in learning. Our time together will help to build collective momentum and understanding, make us more aware of what the field needs next, and it better enables us to empower every learner to thrive and act with purpose.
Each month, Getting Smart hosts a town hall on a selected topic. During this collaborative time, attendees have the opportunity to learn, connect and ask questions about the future of learning.
Do you have a topic you’d love to see covered? Email Mason or tweet us @Getting_Smart using the hashtag #GSTownHall.

What is Experience Credentialing?
Join us for a Getting Smart Town Hall on November 21 at noon PT as facilitator, and lead author of a recent credentialing report, Nate McClennen is joined by Leigh Anne Taylor Knight of The DeBruce Foundation, Julie Lammers of ASA, and Ian Zhu of SchoolJoy, to lead a thoughtful discussion on rethinking credentialing.
This Town Hall will explore ways to make learning credentials meaningful, portable, and beneficial for students, educators, and employers alike. You’ll gain insights into creating a system that strengthens career pathways, integrates real-world skills, and expands access to valuable learning experiences.
