MangaHigh Launches New Math Game in This Post-Flash World

“Want to make it as a competitive balloonist? Well, your numeracy skills had better be good. Answer maths questions to make your balloon rise, and navigate tricky obstacles in this addictive multiplayer physics game.”

Many education content creators are wrestling with this “post- Flash” world and it seems that less high quality and high engaging content is being created for our students. Fortunately, that is not the case at MangaHigh, which many teachers and students already know and use as a staple for high quality and gamified math content.
Talking to Toby Rowland CEO and founder and CTO, Jon Webb, of MangaHigh, the company took on a the challenge and decided to create a game outside of the confines of Flash. Knowing that within the education space, users are on every type of device now, from desk top, lap top, Android or Windows tablet, iPad, even a smart phone, they were determined to create a game that had the appeal of flash, but would not be limited to simply being played on a desk top computer. They created Jetstream Riders, a brand new multi-player math game with high quality abilities and graphics- but created using HTML5.
Toby tells us “the relevance of the game is that it demonstrates how content providers and publishers can create a single, fun game that is playable across the increasingly fragmented technology platforms of the edtech world.  As Mangahigh is widely played from North Carolina to Melbourne via Rio de Janeiro, we really had to think thru our technology choices to make this game, and there are some valuable ideas for 3rd parties…”
Want to try it for yourself? Play Jetstream Riders now on Mangahigh on any device you please.
